The game of billiards otherwise known as pool was invented in france in the late 1600’s and early 1700’s. Pool game was played by kings and commoners! The game of pool evolved from croquet. In the winter months it was to cold to play croquet so they moved inside!! The green cloth was chosen to simulate grass. In the earlier days of pool the balls we pushed instead of being hit.

The original name for a cue was a mace and the original name for the ball was a billiart hence the name billiards. The first rule book for billiard said “few Tones of note therein which hath not a public Billiard-Table.” The reason why the walls on the table are called “banks” is because they reminded the makers of pool of banks along the sides of rivers. In the 1800’s 4 ball pool (American) was invented. I can not tell you the origins of this game because source1 was not overly specific on that particular version, source2 had a fair amount of the asian version, but very little on the american version. Source 3 had non at all!!! What I can tell you is that it was played with 4 balls (unlike the name) and it was played on a 11-12 ft table!!!!! Pool than was revolutionized to the not so new 15 ball version that is now known and loved. Here is a video from what appears to be the 60′s Sorry it was the only one under 1 hour!!:

Bilbo
semi-heroic, semi-brave, semi-hungry, semi-short
Related to Bungo Baggins & Belladonna Took
Who enjoys cakes and tea
Who loves his hobbit hole
Who feels hunger
Who sings a tune or two
Who fears missing a meal
Who would like to see the dragon’s cave
Who gives free dining
Who parades around invisibly
Who stands high with barrels, spiders and adventures all around

On Sunday my cat Fiona died :’(. So I wrote a list of all the thing I will miss about my cat:
Dear Fiona,
My love for you will always be with me. I will miss:
*Your beautiful face,
*Those purrrrrfectly blue eyes,
*Those little ears,
*That smushed nose,
*The little broken tail you parade around with, your black silky smooth fur,
*The compassion, the love, the “little itty bitty kitty butt”,
*The sound of your sweet purr,
*The way when I’d come home and laid on the bed you came up and climbed up on me,
*The way you would come right up to someone doing something and go”STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND LOVE ON ME”,
*Your love hate relationship with the dog,
*The way you would play on the yoga mat, but as soon as the toy left the mat you just stopped,
*The way when you went to the vet you purred so loud that they couldn’t listen to your heart beat,
*The way you would try to lure us down to your food bowl,
*As you were begging for food I would say,”I can’t understand Catinese”,
*The way you turned you nose up to butter and cream and would only eat tuna and Kitty Food,
*When we were evacuated you slept under that chest and just left out your two little paws,
*When we were evacuated and you couldn’t get enough of me,
*How you loved your $300 cat box,
*How you looked the first time you saw the dog,
*How the first time we saw you you made us laugh with your rotund little body with your little tooth pick legs jumping out of this little crate and meowing and brushing up in between our legs,
*How dad said, ”First of all it looks like you fell off the top bunk of a bunk bed and landed right on your nose. Second it looks like after that you went on an eating rampage and ate your whole family,” as soon as he saw you,
*The way you loved anyone and by anyone I mean anyone,
*The way you were sad if I left the house.
*The way you’d open your mouth just a little bit when purring and make a snorting sound
* The way you liked sticking your head into my hand to protect your eyes from the light
* But most of all I will always love my “Fiona-Bear”
